This is a museum dedicated to the early years of the famous Mille Miglia or 'Red Arrow' race between 1927 and 1957 https://www.museomillemiglia.it/en/index.php

The museum has been set up in a beautiful old building complex and opened in 1996. Before the tragic accident that killed 11 people in 1957, this was a speed race that was like no other in the world. Drivers started in Brescia and drove to Rome and back in crazy average times of over 130- 150km/h over several days. The museum faithfully documents the cars that won various categories, many of the back-stories of drivers and of course showcases many of the cars that have raced in the event. It is well set out chronologically and has some terrific archival footage of the race and also some great contextual pieces from the era. The shop will entice car nerds with its merchandise and there is a restaurant if you wish to linger. We visited in August 2025 as part of our Northern Italy road trip in MoneyPenny. https://www.classiccarwife.com/post/brescia-the-lioness-of-italy-and-a-mille-miglia-pilgrimage

We highly recommend it!
