The AMOC Spring Weekend 2026

The Aston Martin Owners' Club is a worldwide community. Back in Australia, we receive the UK club magazine regularly and often think how good it would be to be able to attend some of the events that the UK club organises. So this year, having acquired 'M' , we decided to be in the UK for the Spring Weekend event at Alnwick Castle on 5-7 June 2026. We checked into the Bailiffgate Hotel just next door to the Castle on Friday evening and had a lovely room with a balcony on the top floor of the modern extension building. https://bailiffgatehotel.com/

Many of the club members would be based here over the weekend and there was ample parking at the back of the hotel for all the vehicles.

We had entered 'M' into the Concours event on Sunday so spent a large part of Saturday, cleaning and detailing her to the best of our ability. On Saturday evening there was an amazing dinner at the castle which included a private tour of the state rooms. The Duke and Duchess of Northumberland still live in the castle, although they vacate to another residence during summer. The castle has been used in several famous films including Harry Potter, Downton Abbey and Robin Hood.

On Sunday morning, we drove 'M' through the castle gates and parked her in the Inner Bailey with the 39 other vehicles entered into the Concours. There was a lot of serious cleaning before the judging started and members of the public arrived. Apart from the Concours, there was a special display for 70 years of the the Vanquish cars and an open display of club member vehicles outside the main castle. Since we had to leave our cars there all day, I took one of the Film location tours and did a beautiful walk along the river in the Capability Brown landscaped grounds.

We were one of two cars entered into the Feltham category and came a resounding second in our class. Even so, Mr F received a very nice badge which was presented to him by the Duchess. It was such an amazing experience to participate in this event and thanks go to all the people involved in organising it and to our many new friends. We look forward to the next time we can join in!
