It seems strange that I haven't introduced you to James before now because we have owned him for almost 20 years. I guess I've been waiting for the right moment :)

James was 'born' on 2nd January 1970 and immediately exported to Australia for the Melbourne International Car Show. He was displayed next to the new DBS for the local agents Emptor Motors. As an extra-special car, he was fully optioned with air-conditioning and the new state-of-the-art Brico fuel-injection.

They manufactured only 240 DB6 Mk2s, of which, 46 had fuel-injection. Since then, most have been converted to carburettors due to unreliability. James is one of (perhaps) only three left in the world with the original electronic fuel-injection system. F has modified it to improve the reliability but he still gives us grief on this issue from time to time. He has never been restored and we have used him extensively, including periods as F's daily driver.

In 2015 we participated in an event called 'Spyfest' in Goulburn NSW which was the hometown of George Lazenby (the Australian James Bond) who starred in 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service'. George attended the festival and we shared some fun times with him, including many drinks and hearing his stories of life before and after Bond.

Perhaps the most famous owner of a DB6 Mk2 is King Charles who has a Volante version converted to biofuel and it was driven by Prince William and Princess Catherine at their wedding. King Charles was given his DB6 as a 21st birthday present from the late Queen Elizabeth II.

F absolutely loves this car and wants to be buried in it, but I'm not sure that I could truly carry out his wishes (someone might try to dig him up for the car!).
