One evening last year I caught Mr F lusting after this car on the Sotheby's auction site. It has an interesting past and would be potentially eligible to compete in the Mille Miglia - a lifetime dream for him. The car was passed in at auction and after some negotiation it came into our care.

As the 'senior' member of our Aston clan we have called her 'M'. She was built in 1953, powered by a 2.6 litre straight six engine designed by W.O. Bentley. She was originally delivered to a rich Chinese businessman in Singapore and re-imported back to the UK in 1964. She is one of 411 DB2's manufactured, of which only 103 were drophead coupes like 'M'. She has drum brakes all around, a four-speed manual gearbox and produces about 140 bhp, making her a very powerful car for her time. The DB2 was successfully raced in many major events of that era, including Le Mans.
